Understanding Puff Ratings on Modern Devices

Puff ratings describe an estimated number of draws a device can deliver under controlled laboratory conditions. They are produced with a fixed draw duration, a fixed interval between draws and a fixed airflow setting.\n\nReal world results vary. Longer draws consume more e-liquid per activation. Higher airflow settings increase vapour volume and shorten runtime. Ambient temperature affects viscosity and wicking speed.\n\nWhen comparing two devices, look past the headline number. Reservoir volume, coil resistance and airflow control together determine how close a device gets to its rating. A 50,000 puff device with a 26ml reservoir and adjustable airflow will behave very differently from one with a 20ml reservoir and a fixed draw.\n\nFor distribution planning, treat the rating as a comparative index between products in the same family rather than an absolute promise to the end user.
